Newsletter Contents:

ClipMate 7.3 It's Here!

Most of the changes are "under the hood" upgrades to various libraries, but you're going to like the new printing features, such as the "paper saver", which optimizes print jobs to print multiple (small) clips on a single page.  You can print up to 6 graphics on a single page too!  See Tools | Options | Printing, for the new settings.  ClipMate 7.3 is a free update for registered users of ClipMate 7, and it's available in English, Multi-Language, PortableApps and U3 versions.

License Expansion - It'll be a "Blue Christmas" without ClipMate on every new PC!

If Santa is bringing lots of new toys, you may want to "step up" to a household pack so that you can run ClipMate on up to 5 computers in the same household. If you are an existing ClipMate 7 user, you can "step up" to the 5-computer "household pack" for only $49.95 (that's a $30 savings) by using this link:
Or maybe you just need an extra license or two, but not enough to justify moving up to a Household Pack or Site License?  Use this link to add another license for that 3rd computer or that new USB stick that Santa brings.

Special Offer ClipMate Holiday Special

Back by popular demand is our "Give the Gift of ClipMate" this holiday season! If you are a registered user of ClipMate, we invite you to give a gift copy to a friend... at a very special price of $24.95 (that's $10 off)! You can add a CD for $9.95 (includes shipping). If you don't need a CD (or don't have time because you waited too long), there are two options for e-mail delivery. You can have the e-mail sent immediately, or during a special "Santa run" at 12:01 on the morning of December 25th.  We're extending the offer right up until midnight on New Year's Eve, to accommodate those of you who are late shoppers, or who need a way to quickly reciprocate an unexpected gift!

  • This offer is available only to registered users of ClipMate, and can be accessed only through the following link:
  • Due to the custom nature of each gift order, our system can accommodate only one gift order from you at a time. So if you wish to order a gift for more than one person, you will need to place a separate order for each gift copy.  (Tip: Copy your ordering info into ClipMate, then PowerPaste it back in for the next order!)
  • Postal deliveries during the holiday crunch can be a bit slow, so order soon, if you want your shipped package to arrive in time (please allow longer for overseas deliveries).
  • Please note that this offer is limited only to registered users of ClipMate, and will end on 12/31/2007. In the event that you would prefer to order by phone, we invite you to call us toll-free (USA) at 877-254-7628 or 585-352-4223 from 9am - 6pm EST weekdays.

ClipMate Tip - New Printing Options

ClipMate's new printing engine is "report driven", meaning that there is a library of report layouts, and when ClipMate prints, it selects the print layouts that are appropriate for the selected data.  In the Tools | Options | Printing dialog, you'll find the new options, and the list of available reports.  The "Report Selection" box has 3 selectors, as there are generally 3 types of items: Text, Bitmaps, and LARGE Bitmaps.  There is a settings to determine what is considered "Large", which will cause any given image to be diverted to the report for small, or large bitmaps.  This distinction is important because the "paper saver" reports will print up to 6 images on a page, while the "single item" reports will always print one image on a page.  We recommend a setting between 600 and 1024, as criteria for deciding "large" vs "small".  Using the drop-down lists, you can choose the report used for each category. For example, you can choose the single-clip vs. multi-clip option for text, and choose the report that meets your preference for portrait vs. landscape orientation.
Another change that you'll note is that the clips will print in "batches", grouped by type. So you may notice that if you print a mixed selection of text and graphics, the text clips will come out first, then the smaller graphics, followed by the large, full-page graphic clips.

That's it for now!  As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions.
